Van MOT (Class 4 & 7) – Gosport

Keeping vans roadworthy is essential, especially when they’re relied on every day for work, deliveries, or business use.

At RCJ MOT Centre, we carry out Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing in Gosport, with facilities designed to handle everything from smaller vans through to larger long wheelbase commercial vehicles.

The difference between the two MOT classes is based on the vehicle’s maximum authorised mass (MAM):

Class 4 MOT – vans and commercial vehicles up to 3,000kg MAM
Class 7 MOT – goods vehicles between 3,000kg and 3,500kg MAM

Many garages can’t easily accommodate larger vans, which is why dedicated Class 7 facilities make such a difference. Our workshop is equipped to work with long wheelbase vehicles and larger LCVs, helping make MOT testing more straightforward for commercial vehicle owners and fleet operators alike.

During the MOT, more than 150 individual items are checked in line with DVSA standards. This includes brakes, steering, suspension, tyres, lights, seatbelts, mirrors, emissions, body structure, chassis condition, and general roadworthiness items.

Fast turnaround times are a major part of the service, including same-day MOT appointments where available, and if repairs are needed following the test, these can often be handled on-site to help get the vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible.

Due to my normal mot station closing I had to find a new one. Took a chance on this one and was surprised how quick they managed to get me in same day as it wasn't raining and I only do dry Miles now. Lovely polite and friendly staff on reception. I will be using them again. Keep up the good work.
